Hello, I am the face behind Amy Brosinski,
Chartered Professional Accountant!

I am thrilled that you have found my page. I hope that I can be of service to you and your business (if you have one!) First, you might want to know a little bit about me, so here is a recap of what brought me to where I am today.

I received my Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in January of 2005, which was redesignated to a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2014.

I instantly knew I wanted to become an Accountant when I took my first accounting course in Grade 11. I demonstrated an innate aptitude for accounting and completed two additional accounting courses in high school, leading my principal to write a letter of recommendation stating that I was “possibly the most capable accounting student to come from Chilliwack Senior.” I referred back to that letter throughout my studies whenever I needed a confidence boost.

Once I graduated high school, I started the business program at the University of the Fraser Valley. I joined the Co-Operative education program (“Co-Op”) to gain valuable work experience while completing my degree. In October of 2000, I was fortunate to get a Co-Op position at a public accounting firm. I quickly fell in love with the work I was doing and I was lucky enough to have my three-month term extended to an additional four months part-time work while I returned to my full-time studies at the end of my Co-Op term. I was then on the hunt for another public accounting position and was happy to be offered a part-time position at MNP (previously Edmondson Roper), who was willing to allow me to work my hours around my final year of my University studies.

In April, 2002 I graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with my Bachelor of Business Administration degree and in September of 2002, I started the intense program to become a Chartered Accountant. I finished the necessary coursework and then began studying for the three-day final exam, which I wrote in September of 2004. In December I learned that I had successfully written the exam and upon completion of the necessary practicum hours in January of 2005, I was awarded my designation of Chartered Accountant.

I continued to work with MNP until June of 2008, when I decided to take some time off as I was expecting my second child. In October of 2009, I returned to the workforce when I was presented with an amazing opportunity to work for The Terry Fox Foundation and The Terry Fox Research Institute as their Financial Controller. In 2018, after a relocation of The Terry Fox Foundation's head office, I had another career change. After almost ten years of being away from public accounting and having really missed it, I decided it was time to return to public accounting. For the subsequent four years, I worked for a small accounting office in Chilliwack, BC. In that position, I was responsible for all the corporate year-end accounting and corporate tax returns. I also completed personal income tax returns and did some bookkeeping.

When not busy working, I spend most of my spare time with my family - my lovingly supportive husband Mark of twenty years and our two sons, Luke and Drew. Our boys are quickly growing before my eyes and will be off to University before I know it, so I try to soak up all the time I have left with them. We love to camp together as a family and spend lots of time outdoors enjoying the wonders that the Fraser Valley has to offer.

Thank you to Pam Dykstra of Pam Dykstra Photography for beautifully capturing my family.
